Mathematics

A strong component of the mathematics program is to ensure that students, at all grades, are engaging in the conceptual understanding of mathematics at consistently high levels of proficiency.

For the past several years, Orinda teachers have been engaged in ongoing training and coaching in the Common Core State Standards and the eight Standards of Mathematical Practice.

In 2015-16, students were introduced to new math programs adopted by the Board of Trustees in the Spring of 2015. 

•  K-5 Math Expressions Common Core 
•  6-8 Big Ideas Learning
•  6-8 College Preparatory  Mathematics (CPM)

OUSD continues to partner with different organizations to support Orinda teachers in their professional development training such as the Silicon Valley Math Initiative (SVMI)
